Kaija Saariaho on Her From the Grammar of Dreams

In our waking lives, our sentences are linear and logical, but in our dreams, they're scattered and illogical.

Here, Carnegie Hall's 2011–2012 composer-in-residence Kaija Saariaho explains this concept as the inspiration for her From the Grammar of Dreams—which will be performed during her March 5 Making Music concert—and reveals the links between the piece and Sylvia Plath's life and novel The Bell Jar.
