Milica Paranosic on The Tiger's Wife

One of two world premieres during the American Composers Orchestra's concert on October 26, Milica Paranosic's The Tiger's Wife: Prologue uses electronics, video imagery, and texts from the best-selling novel of the same title by Téa Obreht to weave a thoroughly contemporary tapestry of Balkan folk traditions and history.

Here, Paranosic gives her thoughts on the process of composing this work in collaboration with several other artists and the symbiosis she feels with author Obreht, with whom she shares Serbian heritage.
