Kiwi Crate: Spotlight on the Project Designer

Aaron Siegel | Manager, Secondary School Programs
Composer, Percussionist, and Father of a 4-Year-Old

Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute recently partnered with Kiwi Crate—a company committed to creating hands-on activities for kids ages 3–7—to create the Making Music Crate, designed to introduce young children to the joy of music.

Carnegie Hall staffer Aaron Siegel designed the My Xylophone crate activity, which encourages children to create their own xylophone with bamboo slats, rubber bands, beads, and wooden sticks.

Mr. Siegel says, “My son loves to experiment with music and sound. He’s been known to walk around our apartment hitting the furniture with one of my drumsticks to see what sounds he can make. I created the My Xylophone activity to encourage that spirit of discovery—in a slightly less destructive way.”

You can order the Making Music Crate until November 17 at Visit Kiwi Crate's Facebook page by November 9 to enter to win a fun-filled prize package from Kiwi Crate and Carnegie Hall.
