NYO-USA In Pictures: Week 1
Take a look at Chris Lee's incredible photos from the first week of NYO-USA at Purchase College, SUNY.
Once the musicians of NYO-USA arrived at Purchase College, SUNY, they immediately jumped into a busy schedule of rehearsals, workshops, sectionals, and master classes. A fifteen-person faculty made up of principal players from major American orchestras has been coaching each section of the orchestra, providing invaluable musical insights and helping to iron out details of the repertoire. Orchestra Director James Ross led the full rehearsals, preparing the ensemble for Maestro Gergiev’s arrival next week. On the Fourth of July, the orchestra celebrated with a cookout, water balloons, and a kickball game. All Photos: Chris Lee
