On Novebmer 21, 1962, a concert at Carnegie Hall introduced one of the most influential and unique musical styles of Latin America to US audiences. Bossa nova had emerged from the cafes and clubs of Rio de Janeiro in the 1950s, giving samba a cool, new beach vibe that to this day epitomizes the sounds of Brazil for listeners across the globe.
