The McGraw-Hill Companies CarnegieKids: The Wiyos

Snug Harbor Cultural Center
Bring your little ones to this free, interactive, 45-minute concert that’s designed for children ages three to six, and fun for the whole family!

Fedoras, vaudeville, and washboards: The Wiyos transport us back to the 1920s and ’30s by inviting kids and adults alike to holler, stomp and sing along to old-time American folk music. This Brooklyn-based trio captures the vintage spirit of the era by drawing on blues, ragtime, spirituals, and Appalachian jug-band music. Featuring an array of colorful instruments—harmonica, washboard, kazoo, banjo, guitar—these theatrical musicians fill the stage with rich textures and sounds.
