The New Grieg

Weill Recital Hall
In his Carnegie Hall debut, Norwegian pianist Rune Alver explores Edvard Grieg's innovative works and their impact on more recent Norwegian and European composers such as Béla Bartók, Friedrich Gulda, Geirr Tveitt, and more. Mr. Alver is distinguished by his focus on Grieg’s compositions, and recently recorded two albums of his works: one on the composer's own Steinway grand piano of 1892, and the other at the new concert hall at the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen.
