Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition Finals

Weill Recital Hall
In 1977, the Oratorio Society of New York established a solo competition to encourage the art of oratorio singing and to give young singers an opportunity to advance their careers. In 2006, the competition's name was changed to honor Lyndon Woodside, the Oratorio Society's late Music Director. International in scope, the competition attracts 100 to 150 singers each year. Many of the competition's winners have appeared in concert with the Oratorio Society and have been awarded contracts with choral societies and orchestras around the country.
