Ying Cai, Piano and Ancient Zither

Ying Cai brings Western and Eastern instruments together, performing on both the piano and the ancient zither. Ying performs piano pieces by composers such as Chopin and Scriabin, and ancient zither pieces including one dating from before 221 BC. The concert also features a world premiere that combines Western musical elements with an adaptation of a famous Chinese work. Ying is joined by guest artist Peter Cobb, a saxophonist who performs jazz internationally.
