Blue Period Ensemble

Elliot Moore makes his New York conducting debut with the Blue Period Ensemble. The program features the composer-pianist Bright Sheng performing his own work, Tibetan Dance, as well as the New York premiere of his composition Deep Red for Marimba and Ensemble. The program concludes with Schoenberg’s chamber orchestra version of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde, which was finally completed in 1983 by Rainer Riehn.
