Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall for the fifth time to perform original works inspired by 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, as well as beloved Western classics. They revive the traditions of ancient China, highlighting the beauty of Chinese instruments with the grandeur of a full Western orchestra. Western strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass accentuate the sound of ancient Chinese instruments like the two-stringed erhu and the plucked pipa, performing music that evokes ancient battlefields to the blossomed-filled gardens of the imperial court.
