Rice University’s Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall under the baton of music director Larry Rachleff. Noted faculty artist Jon Kimura Parker joins the orchestra for Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3, followed by a world premiere work by award-winning faculty composer Pierre Jalbert. The Shepherd School is among the youngest of the country’s elite collegiate music schools. Its Symphony Orchestra has garnered a reputation as one of the finest ensembles of its kind in the nation.
