Pianist Ani Gogova reveals a world of “Fantasies, Fairytales & Nightmares” in her Carnegie Hall debut. The program includes the US premiere of a Bulgarian work by Georgi Kostov as well as Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and the lesser-known Fairytales by Medtner. The evening repertory ranges from the intimacy of romantic fantasies by Schumann and Brahms to the whimsical humor of Shostakovich, electrifying energy of Prokofiev, and enigmatic code of Ligeti.
