LARK Quartet
Now & Then: A Celebration of 30 Years
Monday, May 1, 2017
8 PM
Weill Recital Hall
LARK Quartet: Now & Then celebrates the past and present of The Lark String Quartet through music old and new with its present and original members. In keeping with the tradition of LARK to broaden the chamber music repertory through diverse commissions, they perform the world premiere of Andrew Waggoner’s String Octet Ce morceau de tissue and the New York premiere of John Harbison’s String Quartet No. 6. The harmonic and textural modernity of the Debussy String Quartet (1893), as well as the Presto from Mendelssohn’s Octet (1825), bridge the premieres.
