New Music for Strings Festival

Weill Recital Hall
The vision behind New Music for Strings is to create an interdisciplinary space between the fields of string instrument performance and composition in the context of Scandinavian and American traditions, through masterclasses as well as concerts. During the inaugural festival in Denmark, more than 30 composers and performers worked together on different aspects of creating and interpreting compositions for string instruments. For the 2017 NYC festival, New Music for Strings alumni and faculty are joined by ensembles-in-residence, the Parhelion Trio and Three Village Chamber Players.
