Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage
Kent Tritle conducts two choral masterpieces, Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem and Schicksalslied, with Susanna Phillips and John Chest. The Requiem seeks to comfort all who mourn with a tapestry of grief and hope that is simultaneously personal and universal. The exquisite Schicksalslied, whose musical style is reminiscent of the Requiem, explores the immutability of destiny, contrasting the idyllic existence in the spirit world with the struggles of humanity.
