Unfolding the nativity story of Christmas through Epiphany, The Cecilia Chorus of New York performs the six feast-day cantatas comprising J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, lightly abridged for concert performance by Music Director and conductor Mark Shapiro. The concert features Metropolitan Opera mezzo-soprano Renee Tatum. With orchestra, soloists, and 160-voice chorus, the evening’s musical selections range from the contemplative to the celebratory. The Chorus, a 2015 ASCAP/Chorus America Award Winner, is one of New York’s earliest established choral societies, founded in 1906.
