The '60s: The Years that Changed America festival kicks off at the Apollo Theater with the longstanding annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration from WNYC and the Apollo Theater, which features musical performances and brings together audiences from Harlem and around the city. The afternoon includes scholars, community leaders, and activists engaging in conversations that examine the future of social justice movements as we traverse the current social and political climate. The event also includes a performance by Vy Higginsen’s Gospel for Teens.
