In the Intense Now is a documentary essay that explores three pivotal events of the 1960s: the May ’68 uprisings in Paris, the Prague Spring and subsequent Soviet takeover of Czechoslovakia, and Mao’s Cultural Revolution—all from a personal perspective that uses home movies and a bounty of archival footage. It’s a brilliant, moving film—political, intimate, poetically charged, and provocative.
In the Intense Now will be screened January 31 through February 13.
