Described by NPR as “the best party band in years,” Brooklyn-based Red Baraat combines rock, jazz, and funk with scorching bhangra (Punjabi dance and music) for a pulse-quickening experience. Red Baraat’s brass section soars like a hot New Orleans mainline band, while the bhangra beats—driven by the dhol (a two-headed Indian drum)—provide relentless momentum. Red Baraat’s 2013 album, Shruggy Ji, jumped to the top of the Billboard World Music chart, and its most recent album, Bhangra Pirates, has been met with tremendous critical acclaim.
Online RSVP is now closed. There will be a standby ticket line at the door the evening of the concert. If any reserved tickets have not been claimed by 7:15 PM on June 8, they will become available to those in the standby line on a first-come, first-served basis.
