Panos Karan is a pianist, conductor, and philanthropist. Mr. Karan has brought his music into the Amazon jungle and prisons in war-torn Sierra Leone, to impoverished districts in Kolkata and the evacuation centers of post-tsunami Japan. Recent performances include Symphony Hall in Boston, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall and Tokyo Opera City, in the presence of Empress Michiko of Japan.
