The young musicians of the Weill Music Institute’s Future Music Project Ensemble take the stage with composer-pianist Fred Hersch for an evening of innovative and inspiring music. The members (ages 14–19) of this talented collective come from across New York City to form a youth-led ensemble that creates, shares, and produces original music. They worked closely with Hersch—a 2018 Jazz Journalists Association Pianist of the Year and 2016 Doris Duke Artist—to compose original works in a wide range of genres for this evening’s program. The ensemble also performs a new work by Hersch as well as music inspired by the 1960s.

Admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
