Chris Thile, holder of this season’s Richard and Barbara Debs Composer’s Chair at Carnegie Hall; Grammy Award–winning soprano Dawn Upshaw; esteemed composer John Musto; and composer Paola Prestini, co-founder and artistic director of National Sawdust, join Renée Fleming in a conversation about the creation and performance of new song repertoire. Emerging professional singers from Fleming’s weeklong workshop SongStudio will perform, offering a rare opportunity to better understand how composers and singers are expanding the art of song.
