The 200-voice Oratorio Society of New York presents an evening of music for divided choruses. This concert opens with Sibelius’s interpretation of Kullervo, a mythological epic poem of Finland that is rarely performed in the US. Two French masterworks, with Berlioz’s “La mort d’Ophélie” from Tristia conducted by David Rosenmeyer and Debussy "Sirènes" from Nocturnes conducted by Kent Tritle, round out the performance.
