Why do people move from one country to another, and what do they bring with them or leave behind? Through a close look at and discussion about contemporary artworks—such as Claire Fontaine's Untitled (Tears) and Arlene Shechet's Travel Light—alongside 19th century Judaica, reflect on the personal and communal experience of immigration. Make connections between historical movements and contemporary issues in this tour led by Jenna Weiss, The Jewish Museum's manager of public programs.
