Scots and those of Scottish descent were pivotal in the development of modern America. In turn, Americans play a key role in the economic and cultural development of Scotland today. The Scottish Government hosts a panel of academic experts to discuss the history of Scottish migration to America and the ongoing importance of migration today. Panelists include Marjory Harper, Professor of History at the University of Aberdeen, Colin G. Calloway, Professor of History and Native American Studies at Dartmouth, and Graeme Morton, Professor of Modern History at the University of Dundee.
