The Great Migration: Searching for Security, Finding Injustice

Wednesday, April 10, 2019 6 PM New York University School of Law
URL Copied
This public conversation examines the experiences of African Americans moving north during the Great Migration, only to find employment discrimination and segregated housing areas that were subjected to a heavy police presence and overcriminalization. The expert panel will reflect on this history and examine what it means today for racial justice, and the challenge of mass incarceration and voter suppression.
