This public conversation examines the experiences of African Americans moving north during the Great Migration, only to find employment discrimination and segregated housing areas that were subjected to a heavy police presence and overcriminalization. The expert panel reflects on this history and examines what it means today for racial justice, and the challenge of mass incarceration and voter suppression.
