From Migration to Music: The Scotch-Irish Contributions to America
Friday, April 12, 2019

The Scotch-Irish were part of the colonization of America before the country gained its independence from Britain. Migrating from the docks to the frontier, their music became a core national sound, influenced by the input of others in the New World. This two-day symposium features speakers Nancy Sambets, Mary Burke, Kevin Kenny, Dan Knight, Richard MacMaster, Michael Montgomery, Doug Orr, and Fiona Ritchie in an exploration of the rich legacy of Scotch-Irish music in America.
