You Took a Part of Me

Choreographed by Karole Armitage
Friday, April 12, 2019 7:30 PM Japan Society
You Took a Part of Me is a world premiere, wired dance production with choreography by "punk ballerina" Karole Armitage for the five-member Armitage Gone! Dance. Loosely based on a 15th-century noh play Nonomiya, it explores erotic entanglement, unresolved attachments, and the search for harmony. Set to live music by Reiko Yamada and Yuki Isami, the show embraces new technologies created by MIT Media Lab designers.

On April 12, the performance will be followed by a MetLife Meet-the-Artists Reception. An artist Q&A will be held following the April 13 performance.
