The Museum of Chinese in America presents the diverse layers of the Chinese American experience, while examining America’s journey as a nation of immigrants. The Moon Represents My Heart: Music, Memory, and Belonging is an immersive exhibition that explores the role of music in Chinese communities, bringing seemingly disparate genres together—such as Cantonese opera, Asian American hip-hop, Western classical, Taiwanese pop, Beijing underground rock, and styles from the Asian American Movement—into a lively discussion of music and identity.
