Beethoven loved theater. His personal journal is littered with quotations from his favorite plays, and he often wrote music inspired by these works. HB Studio actors perform scenes from Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest, plus Goethe’s Egmont, and Klinger’s Sturm und Drang, interspersed with recordings of Beethoven sonatas, quartets, and overtures.
