Along with special guests Yefim Bronfman, Marc-André Hamelin, Orion Weiss, and Shai Wosner, Emanuel Ax journeys through the legacy of great pianists at Carnegie Hall, from legends Vladimir Horowitz and Arthur Rubinstein to superstars of today.
Performances include Beethoven’s “Für Elise” and Rondo from Piano Sonata No. 7 in D Major, Op. 10, No. 3; Debussy’s “Claire de lune” from Suite bergamasque; Bach’s Fugue in G Minor, BWV 578; Schumann’s “Des Abends” from Fantasiestücke, Op. 12; Fauré’s Barcarolle No. 3 in G-flat Major, Op. 42; and Marc-André Hamelin’s Pavane Variée.
