Les Violons du Roy

Sunday, April 26, 2020 3 PM Zankel Hall
URL Copied
Jonathan Cohen by Marco Borggreve, Avi Avital by Uwe Arens
Bach moves us with his emotional power, delights with his irresistible melodies, and fascinates with his intellectual depth—sometimes all at once! Experience this and more when mandolin superstar Avi Avital joins Les Violons du Roy to perform his own arrangements of some of Bach’s finest concertos. Additionally, he dazzles in his setting of an effervescent Vivaldi concerto, originally written for lute. Avital’s 2015 Carnegie Hall performance of Vivaldi’s music was called “nothing short of electric” (The New York Times). Join us for more high-voltage excitement.
