Live with Carnegie Hall: Joel Thompson’s Seven Last Words of the Unarmed

Thursday, June 4, 2020 5 PM Online
Today’s Live with Carnegie Hall episode will be delayed until 5 PM EDT out of deference to the George Floyd Memorial Service live stream at 2 PM EDT.

Troubled by the onslaught of killings of unarmed black men and after finding Shirin Barghi’s #lastwords project, composer Joel Thompson wrote Seven Last Words of the Unarmed, a multi-movement work performed by the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra and University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club, conducted by Eugene Rogers.
