Andris Nelsons by Marco Borggreve, Augustin Hadelich by Suxiao Yang
The Los Angeles Times praised violinist Augustin Hadelich’s “silvery tone and pinpoint intonation.” He brings these qualities to his performance of Britten’s Violin Concerto, an intense work that reflects uneasiness before the outbreak of war, yet tempered by an underlying lyricism. There is little to soften the stunning power of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, the iconic ballet famous for its savage rhythms and stupendous colors.
