CARNEGIE HALL PRESENTS

Artemis Quartet

Tuesday, October 27, 2020 7:30 PM Zankel Hall
URL Copied
Artemis Quartet by Felix Broede
Praised for their “intensity of approach and force of musical argument” (Financial Times), the Artemis Quartet is joined by founding member Eckart Runge for Schubert’s large-scale quintet. Although composed two months before the composer’s death, it doesn’t brood, but soars on gorgeous melodies that express a range of complex emotions. A Beethoven-inspired quartet by a young Mendelssohn and a new work by Lera Auerbach are also featured.
