CARNEGIE HALL PRESENTS
Cancelled: Spektral Quartet
Tuesday, November 17, 2020
7:30 PM
Zankel Hall
Kaleidoscopic colors and daring sonorities take you to new musical worlds. The harmonies and languid melodies of Debussy’s String Quartet in G Minor were novel for 1893 and still sound fresh today. One of today’s visionary composers is Anna Thorvaldsdottir, acclaimed for her ingenious string writing. Her Enigma—co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall—employs Sigurður Guðjónsson’s video projections for added effect. The Spektral Quartet “likes to put on performances that are not so much concerts as high-energy thrill rides,” says the Chicago Tribune—get your ticket and enjoy the ride.
