CARNEGIE HALL PRESENTS

Berliner Philharmoniker

Friday, November 20, 2020 8 PM Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage
URL Copied
Kirill Petrenko by Monika Rittershaus, Nina Stemme by Neda Navaee
Feel the excitement when one of the world’s most magnificent orchestras showcases its virtuosity and versatility. Andrew Norman’s Unstuck is a 10-minute orchestral joyride, brimming with invention and energy. The orchestra shares the thrill of Brünnhilde’s Immolation Scene, telling the story of the heroine’s passionate farewell to her beloved. Strauss also tells a heroic tale in Ein Heldenleben, a lightly disguised musical autobiography, filled with remembrances of the composer’s earlier music, and a show-stopping battle between him and his critics.
