Caroline Shaw by Kait Moreno
Experience the New York premiere of a work by Caroline Shaw, the youngest recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Music. Her prize-winning Partita for 8 Voices showcased her distinctive vocal writing, enlivened with unconventional timbres and non-Western techniques, and an engrossing compositional voice that continues to surprise. Her new choral work, premiered by Ars Nova Copenhagen, promises to transport listeners to worlds unknown, particularly when performed in-the-round in a Zankel Hall Center Stage concert. Hear another side of Shaw as she takes the stage with her acoustic band, The Hands Free.
