Anne-Sophie Mutter by Japan Art Association / Sankei Shimbun
Anne-Sophie Mutter has been called the “undisputed queen of violin playing” (The Times). She holds court with some outstanding guests in two Beethoven chamber-music touchstones and the New York premiere of a Beethoven-inspired work by the always fascinating Jörg Widmann. Beethoven’s emotionally powerful “Harp” Quartet’s plucked passages are the source of its nickname, while the String Trio in C Minor sears with an intensity reminiscent of his symphonic works.
