The New York Times called the Danish String Quartet “an exceptional quartet, whatever repertory they play.” Experience the first installment of their Doppelgänger project, a four-season initiative in which four composers will create a new work, co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall, in response to a chamber music masterwork by Schubert. This season features Schubert’s final quartet, a work of profound depth that culminates in a dance. The commissioned work is by Danish composer Bent Sørensen, winner of the prestigious Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition.
