Weill Recital Hall
Ron Carter by Beti Niemeyer
Shamisen virtuoso Fumiyoshi returns to Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall after his sold-out Zankel Hall concert in 2019. He conjures layers of sound from a three-stringed Japanese lute and pushes the boundaries of tradition with collaborations through contemporary musicians. Fumiyoshi started playing Shamisen at the age of 9 with his mother and Shamisen master Takahashi Chikuiku. The two-time Grammy Award-winning bassist Ron Carter will make a special appearance for an extraordinary east-meets-west strings collaboration.
