Hymns from Auschwitz: A Tribute to Viktor Ullman and Michel Assael—originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 26 at 8 PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage—has been postponed. The new concert date is Wednesday, April 20 at 8 PM. Tickets for the original date will be honored. New Manhattan Sinfonietta brings together premieres in this meaningful concert. This performance includes Hymns from Auschwitz for Hazans and piano by Elcil Gürel Göçtü, a young composer of Renan Koen's March of the Music Movement; Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K.491, performed in memory of Viktor Ullmann; and, Auschwitz, a symphonic poem by survivor Michel Assael, which was discovered through the research of Dr. Joe Halio, assisted by Koen.
