East Meets West
Tuesday, April 26, 2022 8 PM Weill Recital Hall

East Meets West juxtaposes works by Brahms and Tchaikovsky with the exotic sounds of Maqam in Fikret Amirov’s Mugam-Poema (Azerbaijan) and a US premiere of Pendi Nagmalary by Turkmenistan composer, Suhan Tuyliyev. The performance concludes with Kodaly’s Violin/Cello Duo.


Diana Seitz will also perform recently re-discovered Caprices for Violin Solo by Konstantin Mostras – a renowned Russian violinist, pedagogue, and composer, who taught violin teacher Ivan Galamian.
