Steven Isserlis plays Haydn and Bach
OSL Bach Festival 2022

Thursday, June 2, 2022 7 PM Zankel Hall
Orchestra of St. Luke’s Bach Festival returns to Zankel Hall with Gramophone Hall of Fame cellist Steven Isserlis joining OSL musicians for the Cello Concertos of C.P.E. Bach and Haydn. Rounding out the program is Haydn’s Symphony No. 26. Written during the period of Haydn’s composition often referred to as Sturm und drang, or “storm and stress,” this three-movement work explores the darker side of Haydn, complete with minor keys and unusual rhythms.
