Carnegie Hall Presents

The MET Orchestra Chamber Ensemble

Sunday, October 23, 2022 2 PM Weill Recital Hall
Paul Appleby by Jonathan Tichler
Enjoy a closer listen to the talents and reportorial interests of members of The MET Orchestra in this intimate chamber performance. In its first program of the 2022–2023 Carnegie Hall season, The MET Orchestra Chamber Ensemble performs a Britten fantasy for string trio and oboe, his first work to gain major international recognition; a brisk and propulsive flute and oboe dialogue by Thea Musgrave; a captivating Coleridge-Taylor nonet; a beloved Britten song cycle that makes full use of Paul Appleby’s lustrous tenor; and an early double string quartet by Shostakovich.
