Carnegie Hall Presents

Schaghajegh Nosrati, Piano

Tuesday, November 15, 2022 7:30 PM Weill Recital Hall
Schaghajegh Nosrati by Irene Zandel
Experience the Carnegie Hall debut of Schaghajegh Nosrati, a phenomenal pianist praised by Sir András Schiff for her “astonishing clarity, purity, and maturity.” The program opens with a spritely, light-fingered Haydn piano sonata, followed by Bach’s Partita No. 6. The partita is one of Bach’s great keyboard works and an exciting inclusion in this concert, as “Nosrati is a captivating Bachian; rhythmically infectious, supremely intelligent” (BBC Music Magazine). The second half of the program comprises Alkan’s masterpiece, the Concerto for Solo Piano, a stupendously difficult work that thrills across its feverishly exuberant twists and turns.
