Imani Winds by Shervin Lainez
Hear the long-running and perpetually groundbreaking Imani Winds, featuring guest soprano Janinah Burnett and pianist Cory Smythe. Imani Winds is a fearless and vital modern ensemble whose ever-expanding repertoire ranges from well-loved chamber music to a significant body of commissioned works. This anticipated program draws from the quintet’s acclaimed album Bruits, bringing together pieces by revered contemporary composers Vijay Iyer, Reena Esmail, Andy Akiho, and Rzewski, plus world premieres of newly arranged works to create a carefully curated and thoroughly thought-provoking narrative arc.

Join us for a free drink at a post-concert reception in Zankel Hall’s Parterre Bar.
