Les Arts Florissants

Music for the Holy Week
Wednesday, April 26, 2023 7:30 PM Zankel Hall
William Christie by Vincent Pontet
Enjoy a rare appearance by Les Arts Florissants, the internationally beloved ensemble of period instrumentalists and best-in-class vocalists. Best known for its personable approach to 17th- and 18th-century Baroque and opera repertoire, this virtuosic ensemble breathes new life into the music and makes overlooked gems and genre staples sound equally essential. In this program, Music for the Holy Week, the musicians celebrate the prolific French Baroque composer Charpentier, from whose opera Les arts florissants (1685) the ensemble derives its name.
