Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz is an extraordinary big band comprising some of the best young jazz players from across the United States. Led by the great trumpeter Sean Jones, NYO Jazz has been called “astonishing—not just technically, but stylistically” (The Telegraph). NEA Jazz Master and Grammy-winning vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater joins as special guest in the band’s Festival da Jazz St. Moritz debut. This wide-ranging performance highlights jazz as a limitless art form that bridges genres and generations, featuring timeless jazz standards, big-band gems by Duke Ellington and others, and contemporary pieces that explore jazz’s influence on hip-hop, R&B, and pop.
